As of September 30th 2016, Windows 7 still has a whopping lead of 48.27% of the total market share. How much impact will Windows 10 have; after 14 months Windows 10 currently has a 22.53% share of the market down from the previous months 22.99%, but slightly better than Windows 7’s 22.31% 14 months after it was released. This nearly flat growth is Windows 10 is no doubt the result of the free upgrade offer coming to an end on July 29th 2016.

How much impact will Windows 10 have; after 9 months Windows 10 is currently has 15.3% of the market share for all operating systems including Mac OS, with Windows 8 at 3.19% and 8.1 at 9.85%. Windows XP still has 10.6% and Vista only 1.4%.

Upgrading to Windows 10; then create a disk and partition image backup, not to be confused with a “System Backup” of your current version of Windows before you do. The built in Windows 10 Roll Back / Restore previous version of Windows don’t always work leaving you with a nonfunctional or incomplete restoration of Windows 7, 8 or 8.1 A disk and partition backup includes and will restore all the partitions on your drive and not just the Windows partition.

"We’ve been very hard at work putting together a great build for you that includes a bunch of new features and improvements."

They have even named the build branch FBL_AWESOME. Big changes in the next build are comming. Up to now all the builds in my opinion have been "Alphas", the next build to be released in January will be the first true "Beta" version of Windows 10.
