10 years later and Windows XP is still the most popular OS
Windows 7 appears to have flat lined as far as market share growth as XP still retains the lead in market share. Part of the softness in sales may be Microsoft’s failure to market a boxed retail product of Windows 7 with Service Pack 1 included. Microsoft could use more incentives to upgrade from XP to Windows 7 by bundling Office 2010 Home and Student and the Windows 7 Family Pack, both of which allow upgrading or installation on up to 3 computers.
